Your adventure to Nepal begins in the exotic city of Kathmandu. There are more World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu than any other place in the world. Everest Base Camp Trek

Nepal - Looking across at Mt. Everest and down on Everest Base Camp from Pumori Camp 1

After a few days touring Kathmandu, we will fly to Lukla to begin our trek in the magnificent Everest Khumbu valley and walk in the footsteps of legends like Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. The stunning views and the spirit of the Sherpa people in the Khumbu valley will touch your soul and forever change you. As you move up the valley, the glorious peaks and vistas of the Himalayas will come into sight: Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and finally, the great one, Everest. Each night we’ll stay in local tea houses with Sherpa friends we’ve made over the years and learn about the Sherpa customs and culture.

Nepal - Kongde Ri peak above Namache Bazaar - main trading center in the Khumbu ValleyAfter spending a few days in the Khumbu’s trading center, Namche Bazaar, to acclimatize, we’ll start moving further up the valley. Along the way, we’ll pass the Buddhist monastery in Tengboche. No trek in the Khumbu is complete without the blessing of a Buddhist Lama to insure our well-being and safety. Moving slowly up the valley, we’ll reach our final destination tea house in Lobuche. From here we’ll start our ascent of Kala Pattar at 18,187 feet (5,545 m) to see Everest in its full glory, and if everyone’s feeling fit and healthy, we’ll make the trek into Everest Base camp.
